About Me
I grew up in the medieval village of Lavenham, a beautiful place to grow up and it wasnt until I got older that I realised how lucky I was to live in such a beautiful part of Suffolk.
I met my husband Chris in 1989 and married in 1992 and we moved to Sudbury 1993 which has been my home town ever since. We dont have any children, but have 2 beautiful fur baby labradors, and are lucky to have many nieces and nephews who we love dearly.
I did not start my journey off with a career in the lingerie business, I have mainly worked in administration, retail and support worker roles. However, in 2001 I had breast reduction surgery, I was a size 8/10 clothes and 34GG bra size, so you definitely saw my boobs before anything else!
It was so difficult to find a comfortable bra and being bigger busted it really hurt my back and shoulders as I was not wearing the correct bra and I could not wait to get my bra off at the end of the day, this is when I got an interest in lingerie and trying to find comfortable bras.
I always had a dream of opening a lingerie shop, unfortunately I was never in the position to do this and when I was, rents were high and the internet had taken over, and it went to the back of my mind, roll forward to 2025 the thought kept creeping to the front of my thoughts and I was discussing my dream with girlfriends and they said look into it, so here I am.
I realised that there was a gap in the market in our little town of Sudbury, realising that we have to travel to either Bury St Edmunds or Colchester to get fitted for a bra, not great !!!! I then found that there was such a thing as a mobile bra fitter and it is huge but not in our corner of Suffolk/Essex so I booked myself on a Professional Bra Fitting Course with Intimate Apparel, completed the course and this is where Bluebelles was born.
Why am I called Bluebelles you ask, I racked my brains for a suitable contempory name and I live in Bluebell House and thought I can just use the house name and make it feminine, which also lead me to using blues on my logo, I love my branding as I hope you will grow to love and trust too.
When I am not fitting bras I love to bake, walk my lovely dogs and travel, my favourite desination is Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, I am also just as happy snuggled up on the sofa in the colder months with a good box set and the log burner alight.
